The Congregational Council is initiating the call process for our associate pastor. A first step is identifying candidates for the Call Committee.
The Gloria Dei Constitution and By-laws provides for a Call Committee consisting of seven voting members, appointed by the Council. The term of the Committee will begin in June, 2023, and will conclude with the installation of a full time associate pastor; we anticipate this call process lasting between 6 – 9 months
The Council hopes to have a pool of candidates that reflects the diversity of perspective within our congregation; we are stronger when our collective voice is rich with a wide and deep array of experience. The Council will work to establish a Call Committee of blended ages, genders, backgrounds and interests.
Nominees for the Call Committee must:
- Be able to commit for the duration of the call process
- Meet regularly and often
- Maintain confidentiality
- Both listen deeply and speak up
- Enjoy the respect and trust within the group and the congregation
- Act in faith and prayerfulness
- Think and act for the good of the whole congregation
If you know someone whom you believe would be an ideal candidate for a place on the Call Committee, please submit that name to our Nominating Committee by emailing julie.orman@gmail.com. The nominating window is open now and will close at the conclusion of the May 7 General Business Meeting. The Nominating Committee and Council will then collate the list of nominees and, ultimately, appoint the Call Committee.
More information will be shared with the Call Committee at the appropriate time about that work. But, know that the Council is currently gathering information that will provide for the completion of our Ministry Site Profile (MSP). This MSP will act as a guiding document to support the Call Committee through their process.
