Holy Spirit,
You call, gather, enlighten, and make this assembly holy,
the Glory of God truly present within this body.
In the weeks to come after this Pentecost Day,
in a time of change and transition,
open us to curiosity and wonder.
Ground us in your steadfast love
and the promise of Christ to be always with us.
Then point us forward with creativity and confidence
to new horizons of mission, compassion, equity and justice.
May these very candles be Pentecost each time we light them,
their flames an outward sign of internal fire that will not be extinguished.
Along the way and at the end of this time,
bring us companions and co-conspirators,
leaders and musicians who will carry fire with us,
breathing together in Christ, in whose name we pray.
