Room 99 Project — July Update

After two years, we are thrilled to announce that the renovation of Room 99 is complete! Thanks to the hard work of Langer Construction, the furniture assembly and tile expertise of Scott Keyes, the steady assistance of Clayton Gardner, and the wonderful volunteers who cleaned the space and unpacked, washed, and set up the kitchen (Mary Hendrickson, Cathy Quinlivan, and Betsy Taylor), we’re ready to show you the fruits of our labors.

You are invited to the Room 99 Open House and Dedication Sunday, July 10, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please RSVP here so we can plan for food and seating.

Tour the finished apartment, enjoy a brief program, and share in the excitement of launching this new ministry of hospitality. Local jazz pianist Larry McDonough will provide music, along with our own Paul Damico-Carper.We have received several housing referrals from partner organizations and are reviewing them carefully. We will begin interviewing prospective guests soon and hope to make a decision before the end of July.

Just as Gloria Dei celebrated our new sanctuary space a month ago, we now celebrate a new home for asylum seekers. We look forward to seeing you on July 10, following the second service.
