Soul Food, a group that discusses books from a faith perspective, meets weekly from 9:30-11 a.m., on Wednesday mornings. Due to COVID-19, we have moved to online meetings. Email Pastor Lois Pallmeyer for meeting details.
We begin each week with a prayerful reading of the coming Sunday’s gospel text and prayer. Then, we discuss a few chapters from a book we’ve chosen to read together, including time for questions, Bible study and personal reflection. You’re welcome to come for all or any of the discussions. Your presence will make our conversation that much more meaningful.
Beginning April 7, we read and discuss, White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism, by Robin DiAngelo and Michael Eric Dyson.
April 7: White Fragility, Foreword, Intro, Ch. 1-2 p. ix – 38
April 14: White Fragility, Ch. 3 – 4 p. 39 – 70
April 21: White Fragility, Ch. 5 – 8 p. 71 – 114
April 28: White Fragility, Ch. 9 – 12 p. 115 – 154
