Confirmation Serve Night, Nov. 18, 2020

Dear Confirmation Families,

Wednesday, November 18, 2020 is Confirmation Serve Night!
Plan ahead!

Normally, we’d be organized in our small groups choosing projects that we can do together out in the community. This year, your family &/or pod can design your own serve night. We’re hoping you don’t see this as an evening “off” but a night “out.” On that night, there will be no Zoom meetings. Here’s what you can do:

  • Be sure to plan ahead! Making a plan early means you can have an even bigger impact while involving your whole household/pod.
  • Use the provided ideas or make up your own. Several of our projects may not happen on Wednesday night.
  • If you are combining households, please use covid guidelines: masks, distancing, don’t ride-share, and lots of hand washing.
  • Then, register your plan on using this easy sign-up: tinyurl.com/gdlcserve

Parents: You’re needed! Champion this event, even though we aren’t gathered as a large group in-person. Serving opportunities are an impactful way that students develop their faith in the teen years and will help with the completion of their Credo Project memories in their 10th grade year.

During and following your service project, we’d like a picture or video of your experience so we can share it with the congregation. Send to youth@gloriadeistpaul.org

Someone in your group should use this serving guide Bible Study when you’ve completed your project to lead the discussion to tie your volunteering to your faith in Jesus.

Build the time to debrief (approx. 10 minutes) into your project time.
