| Our work in San Lucas... | | Gloria Dei began congregational involvement in March, 1997, when former Senior Pastor Susan Peterson and five members joined members of two other Twin Cities churches on a trip to San Lucas Toliman, Solola, Guatemala (See map). Visiting the people of San Lucas was such a powerful experience that Gloria Dei now does annual trips. We have learned that the spiritual gifts we receive from visiting San Lucas far outweigh any contributions of money, material goods or effort we can provide. Nevertheless we know that our gifts are a medium for involvement, and are often helpful to the residents in San Lucas. Also, knowing what to expect can help more people get involved, so we offer informational sessions at church periodically. Regular newsletters are published about the mission.
