Gloria Dei

 | "Words from our Youth..."
- Going to confirmation is giving me an opportunity to listen to what
others have to say. I’m learning about what faith really is. I know
that the church will always welcome me. That makes me feel
comfortable and safe.
- Gloria Dei is a fun place to go to. Memories come back when I used to live in this neighborhood. I like helping with the little kids and hanging out with my church friends.
- Gloria Dei brings me closer to God. It gives me a sense of a safe
place, of coming home. It gives me a place to discover what I
believe in. It helps me to teach more to others. It gives me a safe
place to grow.
- Gloria Dei and my faith mean a lot to me because I go to a Christian school, and God helps me in life.
- To me, Gloria Dei means a community of people who are ready and willing to learn about God. My faith is the foundation of my life. In an often confusing and scary world, my belief in Jesus Christ brings about a light to my world. When I walk in to church, the first thing I think of is the people who will be there when I come. The people in this church are very supportive, and I always feel very comfortable around them.
- Faith helps me get through very dark times. I feel inspired, hopeful, at peace, and refreshed. To me, it’s a personal thing. Gloria Dei provides us with a home base to help strengthen my faith and practice my faith. It’s a physical reminder of how we’re suppose to live our lives. I can find like-minded people to share ideas.
- The Gloria Dei community means something to me and that
is...friends and family gathered every Wednesday and Sunday to
worship and learn about God. My faith is something I’m used to,
with going to Minnehaha Academy, but I’m still figuring out what I
have to do with my faith.
- My faith means a great deal to me, even though it is rooted so
deeply in my consciousness that I don’t often consider it in
isolation. It is a way of determining my values as a child of God in
creation. Gloria Dei is meaningful because it gives me the chance to interact with a variety of people, some of whom I have developed strong relationships with.
- Gloria Dei and my faith give me comfort and promise. The grace
and compassion of a loving God – the promise of eternal life. This community is an outreach of God’s love and brings help to my family and me.
