The Internet provides a wonderful means of communication for the purpose of sharing information about Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, its mission and ministries with members both current and prospective.
PAGE DEVELOPMENT: Authoring or editing any design/content on the Gloria Dei Website is limited to the webmaster(s), authorized/trained church staff, and others deemed necessary by the Church Administrator.
RESPONSIBILITY:
- Authors/editors of the Website are accountable for all content and format/design guidelines being followed.
- The Church Administrator/Congregation Council will have final authority for issues related to content/privacy policies.
CONTENT STANDARDS:
- All subject matter on the Gloria Dei Website (and links to other Websites) must relate to Gloria Dei, its ministries and its mission.
- All content/text on the Website shall be free of any spelling or grammatical errors. Documents may not contain objectionable material or point directly to (i.e. hyperlinks to other Websites) objectionable material as defined by the Congregation Council. Any links must work and be updated as necessary.
MEMBER SAFEGUARDS for sections of the website which are not password protected:
These guidelines for publishing pages on the Gloria Dei site have been established because of the undefined and worldwide nature of the Internet audience and an interest in protecting our membership.
- The site will NOT include any names of minors under the age of 18.
- A congregation member’s name or contact information will not appear on the site unless the church is given written and dated permission**. Contact information is limited to telephone, fax and e-mail (as noted on permission form). Home addresses will NOT be published.
- Pictures of individuals (youth or adult) may be published on the site without written permission. However, pictures will NOT include, nor bear, a label / photo ID using (in full / in part) the persons / peoples’ name(s).
** Media Permission/Release forms are available in the Church Office and once completed will be kept on file. A dated e-mail (provided the person providing consent is 18 or older) also serves as a legitimate form of release/permission.
PASSWORD PROTECTED SECTIONS OF THE WEBSITE: The Gloria Dei Guide (which may include names and contact information of members) is posted (in .pdf format) on the church’s website and is password protected.
- This section of the site is for Gloria Dei members only who "opt-in" for the service.
- Members wishing to opt in must "register" (on-line) to receive a "password."
- The church office will not provide the password over the phone
- Submitted contact information provided in the registration will be reviewed and must match what the church has on record to ensure all registrants are members.
- Each month, Gloria Dei members registered to receive this service will be sent an e-mail notifying them the current month’s issue is posted, and, it will include the "password" to access the section of the site.
- The password will change each month.
