 | "We are not from this area..."
Reading of the Day: Psalm 91:14-16
“Those who love me, I will deliver; I will protect those who know my name. When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble, I will rescue them and honor them. With long life I will satisfy them, and show them my salvation.”
We are not from this area, so Gloria Dei is our main “family.” The Monday Morning Bible Study, that wise and humble group, sustains my rocky faith, and it really is a caring group, praying for one another and for the rest of our community and the world, and wrestling with tough questions.
The other Gloria Dei ministries that connect me are Careteam, which is deeply satisfying, and the music ministry, which is a joy to take part in.
My faith is not the constant I would like it to be – I don’t give it enough nourishment! But in the hardest times, it is what sustains me and lifts me to the calm assurance that I am unshakably loved. And Gloria Dei Church keeps me in its own caring circle.
PRAYER: I pray that we grow a deeper community in Christ, by really caring for “our neighbors” – near as well as far. Amen.
