THANK YOU...

…TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED WITH VBS 2010!

YOU ARE A BLESSING!

At VBS 2010, "God's Great Get-Together," the BAOBAB TREE was a central figure — the hub of activity, energy, and life. The baobab tree, which is native to Africa, serves as a meeting place for many people to gather as a community, to discuss and share stories.Animals of many varieties also find a home in (and under) its branches. The baobab tree, therefore, serves as a symbol of the community of God’s people throughout the world gathering together.

That sense of God's community couldn't have been more apparent than it was in VBS 2010 as children, junior and senior high students and adults from all over the metro area came to pray, read scripture, share stories, sing, play games, make new friends and have a great time being together in the love of Jesus.

Baobab Blast!Vacation Bible School 2010, was the result of 4 host congregations (Holy Spirit, Gloria Dei, Nativity and Lumen Christi); 2 host sites (Gloria Dei and Holy Spirit); 4 Faith Formation Leaders

(Christopher Menzhuber, Sara Kopka, Phyllis Hamill-Little and Randy Mueller); 2 youth directors (Lucas Botz & Lindsey Swanson); 61 Junior High School (6th - 8th grade) helpers; and 76 High School, College and Adult Volunteers working together, planning, coordinating, and implementing an exciting curriculum for 324 pre-school through 5th grade children from 26 different area congregations/parishes. What a wonderful experience!

This year's daily offerings amounted to just over $1000.00...$1004.10 to be exact!$502.05 will be sent to Africa Jam. and $502.05 will be sent to the Bishop Gassis Sudan Relief Fund. More information about these funds is available on the VBS2010 website @ www.gloriadeistpaul.org/vbs2010

One of the participating children put it best when she said, "I give this week a B+.If it was two weeks long, I would give it an A."

Zebras, Elephants, Meerkats, and KIDS...Oh My! Wow! a Baobab Blast everyone had learning about God’s love in VBS 2010! We thank the volunteers, the congregations, and the community for your support.

See you next year!
