Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and Holy Spirit Catholic Church are sponsoring a day trip to St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN on Wednesday, July 7, 2010.
Schedule for the day:
7:15 a.m. Load Motor Coach at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church
7:30 a.m. Depart Gloria Dei
9:20 a.m. Arrive St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN 56321
9:30 a.m. Alcuin Library / Hill Museum & Manuscript Library - Presentation on the Saint John’s Bible by Tim Ternes, Director: The Saint John's Bible and Museum Programming and Exhibitions. 32 original pages from Gospel and Acts will be on display
11:45 a.m. Attend Prayer with the Monastic Community
12:30 p.m. Lunch in the Alumni Lounge—Deli Buffet Menu— home made chicken dumpling soup with an assortment of breads, sliced meats, hummus, lettuce tomatoes, onions and pickle spears accompanied by a vegetable tray or salad of the day, brownies or cookies and beverages.
1:30 p.m. Gathering around the Baptismal Font in the Abbey Church for conversation and church tour.
2:30 p.m. Depart St. John’s and drive to Munsinger Clemens Gardens in St. Cloud, MN.
3:00 p.m. Tour Gardens (admission is free)
4:00 p.m. Depart for St. Paul, MN
5:30 p.m. Arrive at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church
Cost: $30.00 (Includes transportation and lunch meal. The only cost not included in this price is items participants purchase in the St. John’s Gift Shop)
