Gloria Dei

"I would imagine each of us..."
Reading of the Day: Galatians 6:10
“So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.”

I would imagine that each of us has a special relationship with Gloria Dei, each a little different, bringing to the congregation our unique “fingerprint.” Yet, we gather together to share what we have in common, to express our faith as Christians, to discover our connections with each other, to nourish ourselves with the message of God. I see a community reaching out to one another seeking to share, to grow, to love.

As an employee of Gloria Dei, I am fortunate to witness many acts of kindness and countless moments of caring. At the end of worship services, I feel refreshed and uplifted. When council and committees meet, I see the diligence and sense of stewardship of the many people who volunteer to work and attend to Gloria Dei with humility and dedication. As I engage in the administrative tasks and monitor the finances, I am reminded daily that we are members, neighbors who support and need each other.

It is no accident that our mission is to be “a caring, healing and welcoming community.” Our intentions are clear and focused and are carried out with a generosity of spirit, good and faithful servants all. Each B0C of you give me something to learn and you inspire me to try to be a better person, to partake in the celebration of the love of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, you have blessed this family at Gloria Dei. Enable us to be a blessing to others. In your precious name. Amen.
