5/20 Minnesota’s Proposed Marriage Amendment.  This November, Minnesotans will vote on a proposed Constitutional Amendment regarding same-gender marriage. The St. Paul Area Synod will be voting on a resolution opposing this amendment at our Synod Assembly on May 18 & 19, a resolution which was endorsed by Gloria Dei’s congregation council.  But what would the resolution mean in the lives of people we know?  On May 20, Gloria Dei’s Adult Forum welcomes Dr. Karen Duke, Principal at Randolph Heights School,and Dr. Desiree Kempke, orthopedic physican, who have two small children, and Dr. Mark Hollabaugh, professor of astronomy & physics at Normandale College and Jon Moe, professor of nursing at Normandale, who have two sons. These couples will address how the passage of this amendment would affect their family lives. Gloria Dei members Katie Stever and Ruth Halvorson will also be present to share their perspective on these issues as a younger and an elder person.  Please join our discussion.
