Vacation Bible School Field Trips 2011

Field Trips 2011 (Grades 2 - 5 and 6 - 8 Grade Helpers)

Remember that VBS T-shirts are to be worn EVERY DAY!

Here's our schedule:

MONDAY, JUNE 21: Grand Slam, Burnsville, 12425 River Ridge Boulevard,  Burnsville, MN 55337  (952) 224-0413

Grand Slam features over 30,000 square feet of activities, games, rides, and sporting activities. Our VBS group will have unlimited mini golf, unlimited batting cages, unlimited Krazy Kars, and 4 game tokens. Everyone will also receive a hot dog and soda pop snack to hold you through the afternoon. In addition, Laser Tag can be purchased for $4 per game.

Requirements: Shoes and socks must be worn.

TUESDAY, JUNE 22: Highland Aquatic Center, 1840 Edgcumbe Rd, Saint Paul, MN 55116 (651) 695-3773

We’re hoping for a hot summer day so we can play in the water! You can start by cooling off on the pre-historic whale bone splash pad. Then challenge yourself on Minnesota’s first aquatic climbing wall. The diving well also features two 1-meter diving boards and two drop slides. Also, check out the new large water slide! Or if you are just looking to swim and play, hop into the Olympic size swimming pool. Bring a little extra money for the concession stand, if you like.

Requirements: Sunscreen and towel

In case of bad weather, alternative plans will be announced.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 23: IMAX Theatre and Minnesota Zoo, 13000 Zoo Blvd., Apple Valley, MN 55124  (952) 431-9200

We’ll begin the afternoon with a trip to the IMAX Theatre to watch “Born to be Wild 3D.” This is an inspired story of love, dedication and the remarkable bond between humans and animals. This film documents orphaned orangutans and elephants and the extraordinary people who rescue and raise them. This is 3D at its best – a heart-warming adventure transporting moviegoers into the lush rain forests of Borneo and across the rugged Kenyan savannah, witnessing the rescue, rehabilitation and return of these incredible animals back to the wild.

After the movie, we’ll head over to the Minnesota Zoo where you can see over 4,200 animals of more than 540 species. Walk down the Minnesota Trail, the Northern Trail, or the Tropics Trail. Do you love fish? Visit the Discovery Bay to see dolphins and sea dragons. Walk the Russian Grizzly Coast to see brown bear, leopards, tigers, and sea otters. This is a WILD adventure!

THURSDAY, JUNE 24: Bowling @ Pinz 7520 32nd Street North Oakdale, MN 55128 (651)770-8000
