This September, like the last twenty-eight, men of Gloria Dei gathered for the 30th Annual “Fall Retreat.”  The retreat took place on the shores of Fish Hook Lake at the Northern Pines United Methodist Assembly Grounds just outside Park Rapids, MN.

The theme of this year's retreat was "Grace."

In addition to the daily discussion sessions, lead by Pastor Harvey, which focused on the theme for the weekend, everyone gathered for worship on Friday evening for Holden Evening Prayer, and on Sunday morning for the Service of Holy Communion. Both Friday’s and Sunday’s services were held camp’s beautiful chapel.

If you were not able to attend the retreat this year - please consider coming next year.

It’s important to know that everyone has a place on this retreat...all are welcome and the opportunities for the men of Gloria Dei to get to know and connect with one another are endless.  Whether it is gathering at the table for a meal, biking or rollerblading the Heartland Trail, playing a round of golf, quiet time in a fishing boat, hiking at the Headwaters of the Mississippi, sitting on the dock and watching the sunset, taking a walk, reading a book, worship, spiritual reflection, taking an afternoon nap, a good game of cards, “schmoozing” in the kitchen...whatever the activity...the Fall Retreat is an enriching, relaxing and enjoyable time for all.
