The Chancel / Canticle Windows
(Note:  See image gallery below)

On the north wall of the choir three beautiful stained glass windows represent three of the great Scriptural canticles. One represents the Magnificat with the words, "My soul doth magnify the Lord," and a picture of Mary at the time of the annunciation. The second window represents Simeon in the temple, holding the baby Jesus, and singing the Nunc Dimittus: "Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace." The third window represents the Gloria in Excelsis, with a shepherd holding a lamb and looking upward as angels sing, "Glory to God in the Highest."

Each window contains symbols of musical instruments from the Bible down to modern times, together with the n.imes of some of the great church musicians of history.  Beginning with King David, there are to be found also the names of Ambrose, Gregory, Palestrina, Luther, J. S. Bach, Nicolai, Gerhardt, Handel, Watts, J. O. Wallin, and Christiansen. Thus is pictured the musical treasury of the Christian Church in the life of worship.
