Anti - Racism Team
No one wants to be racist, but we all live in a racist society. Racism is woven into the fabric of our culture. It affects all of us, systematically preventing each of us from living the life of community God intended for us. In baptism, we are called to work so that all people can participate fully in God’s world and can reach their full potential. Gloria Dei’s Anti-Racism Team is working to dismantle racism in our church, community, and our society. Through education and action, our goal is to lead Gloria Dei to become a leader in our community in this effort. We welcome anyone interested to join us. |
Auditor Committee
Reviews the Council minutes and financial records of the previous year in preparation for the Annual Meeting. |
Communications Committee
Meets with staff, Council, and committees to provide public relations counsel on various issues and activities. Develops strategies and materials which publicize and promote the ministries at Gloria Dei. |
ELCA Scholarship Committee
A group committed to providing financial support for members of Gloria Dei attending Colleges and Universities of the ELCA. This committee holds monthly meetings and fundraising events. |
Gifts, Grants & Memorials Committee
Allocates endowment fund earnings and undesignated gifts and bequests. Oversees memorials in keeping with the express wishes of donors or contributors. Encourages matching fund donations to worthy charitable institutions or causes. |
Human Resources
Provides the Gloria Dei staff with the resources, support, and growth opportunities to enable them to best serve the congregation. |
Investment Committee
Oversees and manages the investment funds of the church, and establishes and publicizes investment policies and criteria. |
Seasonal Task Forces
Seasonal Task Forces (Lenten/Holy Week/Easter Task Force and Advent/Christmas/Epiphany Task Force) begin their work much in advance of the seasons, develop themes and worship plans, visual design and congregational activities that will help us interpret and understand the meaning and significance of these important seasons in the church year. Members of the task forces work closely with the pastoral staff and the worship committee, recruit other volunteers to work with them, and oversee the implementation of their creative planning. |
Welcoming Community Team
Seeks to find new ways to provide a welcoming atmosphere for members and visitors worshipping at Gloria Dei. |
