| On January 16, parents of confirmation students gathered with our staff to share concerns and questions about the current confirmation program. We listened to the ideas that were generated and gathered comments that were shared.
We began with a deep discussion of our goals for a confirmation program. Why do we bring our youth to confirmation? What do we hope they will receive here?
Secondly, we gathered comments and concerns about how well the current confirmation program works in meeting those goals. We listed questions that were raised about the program.
Finally, several parents agreed to continue looking at this conversation, and exploring ways we might adjust the program to more fully meet our objectives. This group met for the first time near the end of January (see side bar on right for more information), and is hoping to meet again soon to continue the discussion.
