On October 4^th we open this year’s Annual and Capital Campaigns under the theme “With grateful hearts…”   This is a community of faith filled with stories of gratitude and grace that have helped to create a ministry of caring, healing, and welcoming in the name of Christ.  During the month of October we will hear some of those stories as we consider how we can support the many ministries of Gloria Dei that continue to connect us to one another and to the broader community beyond our doors.  And on November 4^th at a Wednesday evening supper or November 7^th at a Saturday morning brunch each one of us will be encouraged to think more deeply about our lives as stewards of what we have been given and to consider how we might respond by giving generously to the ministries of Gloria Dei.

This year we will all be asked once again to give to a 3-year Capital Campaign that will assure available funds for meeting our mortgage payments. At the same time, we will also be asked to give to our Annual Campaign that provides the financial support we need to carry out our daily ministries. Together, these 2 campaigns seek our generous response.  Remember that our giving is our response to all that we have already received by God’s grace.  “With grateful hearts”… we give thanks for faithful stewards who give out of gratitude.

So, stay tuned… Look for more information to appear in your mail, read the material that comes to your home, and make plans to attend one of the events in November. This is a great way to get connected and to be inspired by the stories of God at work in this place.  Then, “With grateful hearts…” respond by giving generously to the ministries as we continue to care and serve in Jesus’ name.
