You are ready to be confirmed when you can say...

 

 

 

  • I want to affirm God’s grace given to me at my baptism;
  • I attend worship regularly;
  • I have attended confirmation classes regularly;
    • We understand that you might have to miss confirmation class for reasons beyond your control. You will have another opportunity for learning by filling out sermon notes during worship. Be sure to turn in one form for each missed class.
    • Students missing more than 5 class sessions need to discuss their situation with Pastor Susan.

  • I serve my congregation;
    • 9th & 10th graders serve the Gloria Dei community through acolyting. If you are unable to serve as an acolyte on your assigned date you have two different ways to serve. You can be a substitue acolyte for someone else. You can also give an hour of your time on a Saturday morning to help prepare Sunday School classrooms.

  • I have met at least 10 times with a mentor during my 9th & 10th Grade years;

  • I have taken part in at least 3 retreats/camping trips/mission trips with my peers;

  • I have written a faith statement describing my faith;
    • As part of the confirmation program, 10th grade students will write a faith statement. You will learn more specifics about this process at the 10th grade Faith Statement Workshop.

  • I know people with whom I can discuss my questions and ideas;
  • I’m ready to live as an active member of a congregation while I continue to learn and grow.
