Gloria Dei joins the University of Minnesota Libraries,
Bethel University, Luther Seminary, and the Friends of Saint Paul
Public Library in
recognizing the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James
version
of the Bible with a series of events and several exhibits that explore
the historical and literary impact of this version of the Bible.
Visit the Manifold Greatness in Minnesota blog entry from the Folger Shakespeare Library to see our members at the U of M touring the exhibits about KJV!
Explore the Manifold Greatness website (with a kids' section too!), and visit the two exhibits at the U of M - The Word Made Flesh, featuring rare Bibles and documents, and the NEH-funded traveling exhibit Manifold Greatness! Details are below. Sign up on the bulletin board for one of the tour date choices - January 27 or February 13. (see info on links at the end of this page)
At Gloria Dei, Professor Mark Granquist of Luther Seminary will speak at the January 15 Adult Forum. We'll also have an informal adult forum on February 5 to share our own copies and explore the many ways the Bible has been published.
The Gloria Dei Art Committee
is sponsoring a group visit on Monday, February 13 to the U of M campus
to view two major exhibits - The Word Made Flesh and Manifold
Greatness, described below. Watch for the carpool sign-up sheet on the
