Affirmation of Baptism Worship Service--Sunday, April 15, 2012

Meet in Gathering Space at 1:00 for photos  (Late arrivals may not be included in the group photo.) 

• 2:00 p.m. Affirmation of Baptism service, including Eucharist;  Nursery available
• A reception follows the service in the Gathering Place, (cake and punch) for all of your extended family and guests

Whom to invite:    

• Parents are invited to the brunch and the rehearsal on Saturday.
• For the laying on of hands at the Affirmation of Baptism Service --
• Many people invite their parents, brothers & sisters, and confirmation mentor to be with them.  Others also include baptismal sponsors, grandparents, and other important friends or family members. 
• All of your extended family and guests are welcome at a light reception following the confirmation service.  

What to be prepared for:

• You will recite the Apostles’ Creed with your class.   Work to memorize this before your rehearsal!

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;  he descended to the dead.  On the third day he rose again;  he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen
