Development Committee Annual Report 2004
Stewardship begins in the heart, so it is with heartfelt appreciation that we acknowledge the gifts of time and talent that so many members contributed to Gloria Dei in 2004.  It is with similar appreciation that we also acknowledge your ongoing financial support.

A successful 2004 Annual Giving Appeal resulted in new milestones in household pledges and pledged income.  It is our belief that for the first time in Gloria Dei history more than 500 pledges to the annual budget were received toward the 2004 appeal.  One of the goals of the Development Committee in 2005 is to continue to inform the membership of the financial and time/talent needs of this faith community.

During much of 2004, a dedicated group of members spent many hours reviewing our existing endowment program at Gloria Dei.  The result of this effort was the creation of a more modern and easier-to-understand policy regarding Congregation Stewardship Funds.   Members will have continuing opportunities to learn more about Congregation Stewardship Funds in early 2005.  A final vote will be taken on the proposed changes at the annual meeting.  We believe this effort will prove to be very valuable to members – and to Gloria Dei - in the years ahead.

As we conclude another calendar year, we appreciate your ongoing support for Capital Campaign II.  At the present time, the dollars pledged to CAP II are about equal to our mortgage payments during this three-year campaign. If you have not yet made a commitment to CAP II, we would welcome your participation.   There are some real opportunities in 2005 for long term debt reduction if we receive new pledges to CAP II and/or members are able to give at a level above their existing pledge.  Thanks for all you do for this wonderful ministry!
