Sundays, 9:15 – 10:10 a.m. Normally meets in Fellowship Hall- Stage Side. A variety of speakers and community leaders discuss issues of faith for today’s Christians, offered on Sundays during the school year.
2/5: Lost in Translation – How many Bibles do you own? Do you have a favorite? Do you read from a King James Version? A New Revised Standard? An American Bible? Do you ever wonder about all of the various Bibles and translations that are available? Bring any or all of the Bibles you keep in your home and join us for a fun morning of Bible Show and Tell. Pastor Paul Tidemann and Susan Gangl will help us share the Bibles we treasure and those we keep for posterity.
2/12: Namibia Mission Trip – Last summer, members of Gloria Dei traveled to Namibia to witness the work of God happening there. They came home full of excitement and joy, and are longing to share their adventures with us. (Did you hear about the charging elephant?) Be with us to see their slides and catch a glimpse of the fun they experienced.
2/19: St. Paul Council of Churches – Being Christian in an Inter-faith World: The forum will address the work of the Saint Paul Area Council of Churches, illustrating how our faith as Christians gets lived out in the 21st century. The ministries we support through Project Home, the Interfaith Youth Leadership Coalition, the Emergency Food Shelf at the Department of Indian Work, and enrichment and tutoring programs with American Indian and African-American kids will be highlighted. Pastor Patricia Lull, Executive Director and member of Gloria Dei, leads the discussion.
2/26: Taste of Gloria Dei Around the World How far throughout the world does Gloria Dei’s ministry stretch? What do our global partners in Guatemala, Namibia, Hong Kong, and Bangladesh teach us about God’s work in the world? Where else have members of Gloria Dei served and learned? The world is coming to Gloria Dei on February 26! Sample foods, listen to the music, enjoy the crafts, hear the stories of Gloria Dei’s mission partners around the globe. Join us for a wonderful morning in which we get to taste, see, touch, and listen to God’s work across the world!
