Our Centennial Year has been full of enjoyable celebrations remembering our past history as a church in St Paul, MN. As we move into the beginning of our second century, the Living Intentionally Task Force has begun to think about how we, as members of the church, could be more intentional about simplifying our lives and living our faith.
We recognize that our members yearn to connect with others who are struggling with how to live a centered life with all its demands. The Task Force has concluded that it is appropriate for Gloria Dei to provide a forum for us to engage in this conversation.
Our theme is A Year of Living Intentionally: Called to a Centered Life. Our theme statement (supporting Gloria Dei’s Mission Statement) is:
We at Gloria Dei find our center in Baptismal grace and are called to live intentionally in body, mind and spirit, as God’s servants in the world.
We begin the year with:
- Called to a Centered Life Banners in the Sanctuary, Gathering Place, and Fellowship Hall
- All Congregation Picnic on Rally Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 12:30 PM at Highland Park Picnic Shelter
- Summer Reading Program
- “Book Clubs” to discuss the book
- A Sunday Evening of Worship, Supper, and Conversation with Rev Jack Fortin (author of The Centered Life) on Sunday, September 28, 2008 beginning at 5:00PM
Won’t you join us on this journey? We encourage your participation and input.
