 | February/March 2007: “A Spiritual View: Paintings by Laura Frykman” The Art Committee will host the work of local artist Laura Frykman February 4 through March 11, 2007. A reception and gallery talk with the artist will take place on Sunday, February 11, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., in the lower level gallery. Inspired by the effects of light and her joy at participating in the colors and rhythms of life, Ms. Frykman considers the creation of art a spiritual practice. Her floral, landscape, and abstract works are executed in oil paint or chalk pastel. Laura Frykman’s background includes training at the Minnesota River School of Fine Art and United Theological Seminary, New Brighton, MN. She currently works with special education students in the Minneapolis Public Schools and teaches pastels at the Edina Art Center and as a private tutor.
